Welcome to Marshlands Inn

Set on 8 lush acres of marshlands, gardens, and lawns, Marshlands Inn is a historic veteran retreat dating back to 1854. A formal restaurant on site offers homemade meals with a modest but well-regarded menu, including seafood dishes and homemade chowder, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. I try to time my trip when I’m the area to get in for lunch or dinner. Not as often as I wish. I’m always very pleased. I was served a beautiful lunch this week when the dining room was not even open. Delicious chowder, rolls and fresh coffee. Thank you!

My adult daughter and I took a road trip to Memramcook but stayed at Marshlands Inn in Sackville. We prefer BnBs and older homes to stay in as opposed to motels or large hotels. I had researched a few on Google maps and am so happy to have found this inn. It's a large, gorgeous 1850s house/inn with a storied history. Many notable famous people have stayed here including Queen Elizabeth in 1984. The main house is filled with exquisite antiques and cherry wood woodwork. The carriage house also has rooms with tvs. We stayed in the carriage house, our room had two very comfy double beds and a lovely bathroom with lots of fluffy, white towels. Also of note was an ironing board, iron, and hair dryer. The dining room serves three meals every day. We ate breakfast which was lovely with teacups and crisp white linens, placemats and napkins. I had a look at the lunch and dinner menus and the offerings are mouth-watering. Not a large menu but what is available is to die for. Scallops with pernod was one of the dishes listed for example. Everything is homemade. There's a large garden and lawn on the grounds with a view also. I would highly recommend this beautiful Inn, it's well worth the visit!!

Beautiful very comfortable room in a very nice inn. The food was terrific. The attention to detail shows in the food. One of the best seafood crepes I've ever had followed by a very nice omelette for breakfast. Excellent service. I recommend staying and dining here and if a stay isn't in order then I strongly recommend the dining itself.

This is a lovely little spot! We just stayed the one night, and I think we were the only ones there. The owners were very friendly and the place was very quiet, making for a very cozy night. We both slept really well! Breakfast was delicious too, everything was freshly made and delicious. Very good price and amazing food. We had a lovely stay, we hope to be back sometime!

Stopped by at random on the way to Newfoundland ferry. Loved the place. Many interesting and beautiful touches in this historic hotel. Breakfast food and service were excellent. Outdoor gardens were lovely. Less expensive than a third rate chain hotel. We took many pics and will be back again if we are in the area.

Beautiful stay. Attended Sackville for a wedding. We had used booking.com for the booking and found out upon arrival that our Corgi dog is more than welcome but not in main house. Totally understandable. Well, Barry and his son managed to do some quick juggling of rooms to support. Greatly appreciated. Grounds are beautiful. The Inn, yes is a style of its own, Victorian theme which we very much enjoyed. Queen Elizabeth’s attendance via signature is well preserved in guest book. Room was spotless and comfortable. Dining room was elegant with food delicious. Not much else to say. Great stay that supported our needs and we found the family run business family quit enjoyable.

My sister and I travelled downeast and were thrilled we were able to stay at the Marshlands Inn. Our parents had spent their first married night there in 1952 before moving to Ontario. Prior to that, my grandmother had sold eggs there during the war years. We made a reservation for dinner; the clover leaf buns, just like Mom used to make, the best clam chowder and the seafood medley were excellent. Our room in the Carriage House was clean and quiet. We were very well taken care of, and we are delighted with our stay. Here's a photo of my grandmother and two of her children. Note the egg baskets!

Beautiful old bed and breakfast with an interesting history. Very kitsch/dated décor, and service was impersonal. That's not really an issue for me at all, but could be for some people.
